Our Mission Statement and Who we are?

Kirklees Filmmakers is a not for profit organisation that aspires to advance Kirklees people and educational and community groups with training in all areas of Film and New Media as a tool of communication and knowledge.

Our aim is to raise awareness and help local people, local organisations and community groups with Film and New Media appreciation, promotion and practice.  We work closely with Kirklees Council, Kirklees Education, and local Kirklees community groups and organisations.

What do we do?  .

We support and encourage filmmaking and use of New Media concepts in the Kirklees area.and run projects and workshops throughout Kirklees.

We provide film and new media courses and training at the Batley Resource Centre to community groups, the general public and disadvantaged people to enrich them with filmmaking skills as a tool of communication and knowledge.

Who do we work with?
We support, encourage and work with a large variety of Kirklees people, groups and local organisations.  We work with people over 55s, young people aged 8-19, and with children and adults with severe or profound learning difficulties and related needs.  We especially promote those people from disadvantaged groups and BMEs.
